There are short-cuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them.
Hi friends!
Dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another!!
This blog of mine is dedicated to all those who are passionate about dancing!!
Well all of us have some talents, something for which we have intense enthusiasm and interest, which makes us zealous and at which we are exceptionally good. That is called PASSION and for me it’s ‘Dancing’! To dance is to be out of you. Relaxed, energetic, more beautiful, more powerful, lively and dynamic!!
I am a dance fanatic and can’t resist any kind of music. My feet automatically start tapping to the beats. Dancing is another world to me. Almost two months back from now, I got a chance to dance in a group of 25 people; all my batch mates. What a wonderful experience it was! Everybody was so involved in the fun and excitement, that nobody even realized that it was 10 pm in the night and all of us had to return back to our hostels/homes. We danced like animals; sweating badly, sprinkling water on each other and all this actually happened in our college premises. But we were saved by god’s grace as nobody caught us doing such an insane thing. We had been preparing for our cultural event “Unison 2010” that time and the entire week went on like this-dancing, dancing, dancing and dancing. I really enjoyed it to the core!! What a great event it was with mind-blowing and energetic dance performances.
Well this was one of the experiences that I have had till now. But I was simply thinking what is it that makes me love dancing so much? What is it that I really like about dancing? I never tried to think over the importance of dancing in my life.
“In everyone’s life there are some not-so-good happenings -the times of despair. That is the time, when you find out ways and means to overcome those feelings.”
At such times, people switch over to some means to soothe, calm, and transform them or to gain inner strengths. One such best way is ‘DANCING’. I am the happiest person when I am dancing, either alone or in a group! I take it as fun as it gives me a chance to be with myself. I feel released when I dance. It makes me feel contented, joyful, cheerful and delighted.
So this is what makes it an important part of my life. Here are some more additions to it:-
- Most important, dancing makes you enjoy to the core.
 - It energies and refreshes you.
 - It is a real stress buster.
 - It indeed keeps you physically and mentally fit.
 - It increases your blood circulation.
 - It tones your body by helping burn that extra flab J
 - Talking about mental fitness, it helps you forget your worries and tensions at the time you are dancing and later also.
 - You actually learn to live in the present!
 - If you dance in a group you discover new friends and feel more connected to them. This helps in building up good relations.
 - Lastly, it gives you a reason to live, enjoy life, have fun and love yourself!

Schools nation wide are organizing summer camps with special focus on dancing and singing. Though I have performed at various college and school events in the past, but have still not build my expertise in any of the dance forms like Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Salsa, Hip-Hop, Belly dance etc. So I really wish to learn some of them and become a dance instructor some day! Well I believe one should really put one’s heart and soul into refining one’s talent more and more.People have started taking up dancing as there profession which is a good sign for India and soon we Indians will get to see some more great stars emerging out and making our nation outshine!
So what are you waiting for friends; you all could be one of those stars. Just give it a thought!
We all have some great skills, so why not refine them and become a master!!
Happy dancing!!! J

I would say, Dance is a combinace of human activities, you have to control on your mind, control your body, listening power, react according your music, balancing space between coordination, help your group members, etc....
dance is our Indian Culture.

Hi tukur,
ReplyDeleteIts a nice post. I would like to quote a fact and elaborate d vitality of dancing, "Socrates started learning dance at the age of 70, as he felt that some very important thing in his life is missing".
So is the beauty of dancing. I dance madly with friends during parties and in discs, but am not a stage performer. Yet, its an refreshing experience.
Hey Deepz (thats your name in my mobile ;-) hehe) Great Blog I must say. I was so happy that you mentioned about the dance of Unison 2010 rehearsal, thats probably one of the best memories of the grand event.
ReplyDeleteI have always been more aligned towards stage acting than dance but never backed down from it whenever I had the opportunity. Your blog has inspired me so much, I am thinking about writing a blog on my passion i.e. stage acting ;-)
Keep writing!
